Every year, thousands of DJs and music-lovers make the annual pilgrimage to Miami, as for one week of the year the city is transformed into a dance music Mecca. And while the sound of some parties and festivals choose to go bigger and louder each year in an effort to make themselves heard, we prefer to go back to where it all started, with a fresh approach to the core values of ‘real’ house music around which the conference was originally built.

Representing the first major musical event of the year, the Miami WMC is a hedonist’s paradise; a place where house music is king, with all-day pool parties and all-night clubs the order of the day. This is the uninhibited backdrop to Defected In The House Miami ’12, as three of the scene’s hottest talents deliver their own very different but equally ambitious mixes, presenting the prevalent sound of Miami.

CD1 is helmed Noir, a producer, DJ and label owner responsible for some of 2011’s most enduring house records. This was the year that the deep, evocative, groove-led sounds championed by labels such as Crosstown Rebels, Get Physical and No.19 Music really came to the fore – especially in Miami and Ibiza – and Noir has cherry-picked the very finest examples of the genre with which to craft his mix. Maceo Plex, Clockwork, Subb-An and Life & Death are names synonymous with quality, and all feature on this slickly programmed and emotional musical soundscape.

Treasure Fingers first came to the attention of the house faithful with his debut record ‘Cross The Dancefloor’; an inescapably catchy, vocoder-laced gem that two-stepped over genre boundaries and garnered support from A-List DJs around the world such as Pete Tong, Annie Mac, Sinden and Kissy Sell Out.

CD2 sees him merge his diverse influences and musical background into a mix packed with intricate basslines, chopped-up, gritty synth melodies and party-ready drum breaks. From the classic NYC sounds of MK’s remix of Storm Queen’s ‘Look Right Through’ and ARGY’s mix of Osunlade’s ‘Envision’, right through to the broken two-step of his own ‘Rooftop Revival’, Treasure Fingers crafts an eclectic and ambitious mix that is nothing short of outstanding.

Rounding up the package is Franky Rizardo, perhaps the most exciting young newcomer to the world of house music production and performance to come out of Holland in the last few years. Tirelessly creative and with a string of acclaimed singles and remixes already under his belt, his mix blends trademark heavy percussive flourishes (Two Bears ‘Work’ (Franky Rizardo Mix)) with timeless, energetic house (Huxley ‘Take No More’; Vaggio ‘Don’t You Want Some More’), creating a mix that is engaging and highly intelligent from its first beat to its last.

The Defected In The House mix series is one of the most respected in the house scene, with previous editions featuring artists ranging from Masters at Work and Joey Negro to Gilles Peterson and Tensnake. Defected In The House Miami ’12 adds further weight to the series, showcasing three artists who authoritatively represent the consummate breadth of house music in 2012.

Tomas Stratakis (Tomas Es) is a young talent from Greece. Part of the “Moshi Moshi” duo, have released his tracks on labels such Resopal Schallware with "Karuzell EP" or Dimmer Records with "Illuminati EP" in 2011.

In this release, number twenty one, for Redlight Music. Tomas Es is delivering four quality tracks off Deep House. “Manhattan’s Women” is the opening track and gives it’s name to the release. A pure Deep House master piece with all the elements to become a Deep hit: good chords, nice keys and amazing rhythm. The second tune is “Manhattan’s Women Know” another Deep rocket with a rolling bass line and chopping chords that bring back the groove to the track.

The third track is shared with Jerikon (Apparel Music). Where they both show how can they play with samplers and trumpets on a nice House cut. And closing the release “Swag”, also with Jerikon on this Deep bomb with hip hop vocals.

"Between the Lines" – title and content have seldom harmonized better than on Nick Curly's debut album. With a lot of soul, empathy and musical subtlety, the Mannheim native is making his way from the dance floors of this world into the ranks of timeless house producers à la Moodyman, Move D or Larry Heard. "Between the Lines" is an album that wants to be heard and not just praised.

Nick Curly – a name that has defined the image of the global club scene over the last few years like no other. As the driving force behind the so-called "Sound of Mannheim", Curly was long considered the rising star of the international house scene. That is a status he has long since left behind him. Having arrived at the top of the international DJ elite, the world-famous Ibizan club "Space" even recently honored him with a residency – a distinction that is otherwise reserved for genre greats such as Carl Cox and Armin van Buuren.

With "Between the Lines", Nick Curly is now taking the next step in his impressive career. As the title suggests, there is more to it than a mere reflection of his DJ career so far. Rather, on his debut album, the Mannheimer presents himself from a different angle, offering the listener an insight into the man Nick Curly – away from the bright lights of the club circus. With "Between the Lines" we can look forward to a thoroughly sophisticated artist album. Contrary to the trend towards sterile tracks straight out of the computer, Curly makes us of the classic tools of good music: real instruments, real singers, real emotion. In this sense, his debut is musically rich and spoils the audience with virtuoso bass lines, distinctive vocal parts and organic percussion. This can especially be heard in "Piano in the Dark", for example. Its melancholic piano parts in combination with the emotionally resonant voice of singer Worthy Davis exquisitely suggest the charm of legendary New York piano bars.

Nick Curly has always remained faithful to the 4/4 beat without in any way compromising the diversity of his atmospheric tracks. Rather, the catchy rhythms further reinforce the message of his tracks. The dry grooving drum patterns in "Wrong Hands", for example, are beautifully complemented by the hypnotic synth chords. A piece of modern Detroit, which – typical of "Between the Lines" – works as well at home as it does on the dancefloor. Overall, with its intelligent arrangements and sophisticated production, Nick Curly's first studio album presents a refreshing sonic experience that will appeal to music lovers and invite repeated listening.

Of course, "Between the Lines" will appear on Cécille Records, the label with which Nick Curly laid the foundation for his career and made the "Sound of Mannheim" known all over the world. The album will hit the stores on the 19th of March. You can already catch a first glimpse at the official release party on the 17th of March at Curly's longstanding residence, the Loft Club in Ludwigshafen. An extended world tour is on the cards, which will find the Mannheimer paying visits to South America, Japan, Australia and the United States.

It’s not quite obsessive–compulsive disorder yet, but still... Because for Dirk Da Davo aka Neon Electronics, there are no alternative options: over the years, heart, soul and drum machine have merged into a near mystical, throbbing undercurrent, where dented synths lay down grooves to make the night get up and shake some.

So, on his ‘Keylogger’ album, first digitally released in 2011, he keeps on kneading his own semtex, as he has been doing since the eighties, be it as one half of The Neon Judgement or in his own Neon Electronics. With lyrics that still go for the sore spot, yet refuse to succumb to defeatism. With dark, thrilling beats and sonic attacks that nevertheless contain a hybrid funkiness. And all this with the authenticity of the seasoned musician who, at the same time, welcomes the opportunity to hook up with some young guns like Radical G or Bodyspasm. In a way, it’s the ultimate proof of the fact that the electronic scene (of which Da Davo was one of the founding fathers) over the years has become a thriving community where different generations reserve a raised middle finger for the cynical conceit of the powers that be, and where music is not a commodity, but a vital constituent of a view on life itself.

So when Dave Clarke immediately added a pre-release of Neon Electronics’ ‘Over And Over’ to the Top 10 of his White Noise Radio Show, it wasn’t by means of lip service or tribute, but because the track belonged there.

On the ‘Keylogger 01 EP’ Dirk presents three tracks from the album, ‘Over and Over’ featuring Radical G, ‘Under The Worst Condition’ and ‘Plastic World People’ featuring Bodyspasm. Additional remixes come from Marseille’s modern electronic maestro, Millimetric with his bass heavy, electro-esque rendition of ‘Over and Over’ as well as Radical G’s solo take on the track, which sees the Belgian producer turn in a solid industrial version for the dancefloor. While Action Nano’s remix of ‘Under The Worst Condition’ ripples into action, displaying the multi-cultural influences of this French based Anglo-Italian.

As well as this digital release of ‘Keylogger 01 EP’, the physical release of Neon Electronics’ album ‘Keylogger’ will also be available from 30th January 2012.

Several reworks come from Belgian producer Ramon Tapia (Sneak’s current favourite), remixing Sneak’s own ‘My Love’ and Sir James’ ‘Special’ showcasing his Hot Jackin’ sound. The album also includes an exclusive new single from the Tripmastaz titled ‘No Turning Back’ forthcoming on Sneak’s Magnetic Recordings.

Echoes of ‘way back when’ come courtesy of Swiss producer Mendo with ‘Old School’, busting with soaring sirens and stuttering vocal samples. More power beats and rolling bass provide the electric undercurrent for catchy soulful vocal hook on Alex Tepper’s ‘In, Out, Life’ and an infectious funky bass groove makes a grand entrance before dropping into a haunting breakdown on Christian Burkhardt & Einzelkind’s ‘Cooper’. Fabric 62 is weaved together by a hefty selection of Jazzy & Jackin’ grooves. Sunshine, beach life and Salsa music on the Caribbean island of Puerto Rico provided a backdrop for DJ Sneak’s upbringing. - “Music is a huge part of the Puerto Rican way of life and I feel blessed to have been born in such a musical cultured place. The rhythms, sounds, melody and Latin beats ran through my veins as a young kid which is still very much a part of me, the tones still resonate in my mind and I use them when I produce music.” Sneak moved to Chicago in 1983 and was captivated by American life and the sounds of Jazz, Funk, Soul, Disco and of course, the Chicago House sound which was starting to emerge on the airwaves. “I was drawn to House music because it had very little singing which was perfect for me at the time as I understood very little English. The instrumental endless music mixed together was very appealing... To this day I love and strongly support House music, it really is my life.”

Sneak’s first projects were of an entirely different creative nature. He started off airbrushing and doing graffiti, selling his art on T-Shirts whilst working in a record store also exploring the music industry side of things. Sneak still does graffiti today, boasting a super cool CD wallet brimming with his own designs on each CD. In 1991 Sneak launched Defiant records with his life savings and began recording and selling records, where by the mid 90’s he really began to shape his sound, dropping tracks every week. “This is how I broke through and DJ Sneak became a known name across the world.” Sneak continued to work with key folks including Cajmere / Green Velvet and Derrick Carter with his Classic label who released Sneak’s ‘U Cant Hide From Your Bud’. In 2000 he launched Magnetic Recordings spawning one of Sneak’s biggest releases in 2001 with ‘Fix My Sink’ featuring vocalist Bear Who? Other labels followed including Oomph Recordings sporting a deeper sound, and Sneak’s Classics for re-releasing older tracks with fresh remixes.

As a DJ, Sneak has been a mainstay on the worldwide club scene for 20 years cutting his Fabric teeth at the legendary Bugged Out parties with Norman Cook after a long residency at Mr C’s The End Club in London. Recent adventures have seen him putting on giant warehouse parties in his home of Toronto to hitting the gigantic festivals in the Eastern Bloc including Exit in Serbia, Sunwaves in Romania, over to T In The Park in the UK, and back across the pond to the sunny shores of the BPM Festival in Mexico. Sneak is a workaholic and has been able to survive an industry of constant changes re-introducing himself to a whole new generation of clubber and music lovers whilst still pleasing the old school music buddies who have supported him since day one. As well as putting the finishing touches to his new artist album due for release in Spring 2012, Sneak has many new single releases in the pipeline including a new forthcoming collaboration with Riva Starr. He has many releases lined up for all 3 of his own labels as well as European labels who continue to support his sound.

Corsten heralds a new era of euphoric, uplifting electronic music in its purest form on “A Day Without Rain” featuring Ellie Lawson, her super-charged vocals bringing smiles of ecstasy to club-goers’ faces. The equally inspiring albeit slower tempo “Walk On Air” featuring Pierre In The Air & Amba Shepherd is also a glimmering jewel.

Always good to see new initiative from the Netherlands. For sure there is no shortage on new labels, but we have great feelings with this new label by the enthusiastic ESHU collective who have showed they got a great musical taste and fine aesthetics with their collaborations with dutch Techno don Darko Esser.

This first release is a limited project starting the label by delivering 2 smoking hot originals and a proper remix! Lunar Farside is a slow tension building space journey with detailed sound design. Dimi Angelis and Jeroen Search are on remix duty and deliver a remix more suitable for the clubs, with a heavy throbbing bassline and some effective percussion.

The record is closed by a classic deep dubby techno workout called Definitely Lunar. A 10 minute trip to the dark side of the moon. Slow paced techno with an attitude.

Clocking up some flawless releases over the last few years on imprints such as Diynamic, 2020 Vision, Get Physical or Defected among others, UNER’s percussion and funk led productions have caught the ears of many and Cadenza proudly welcome him aboard in the opening weeks of 2012.

The EP’s A-side ‘Pallene’ marks itself with an insatiably rhythmic appetite. Bongo’s tap, tom drum’s echo and shakers hiss through the opening moments, underpinned by a simple yet provoking piano melody. Winding along at a pitter patter pace, UNER’s live percussion performed alongside Nacho Gonzalez make for an elegant and classic atmosphere.

As ‘Pallene’ and its bellowing kick wriggle along sensually through scattered doubled keys, warm synths and shimmering hi-hats, it takes on a dance floor worthy interpretation of classic Latino Glamour.

Joined by B-side ‘Cocoua’, the ‘Palua’ EP retains its wriggling sensuality with pounding kicks and high contrasting hats and shakers. Building demurely with a rising bass line that mocks the clattering cymbal crashes, ‘Cocoua’ swings into dusky late night vibes as a melodic chord pattern makes its entrance. Gloriously simple in its stabbing arrangement. ‘Cocoua’ feels hypnotic, timeless and sexy as is the perfect companion for ‘Pallene’.

2011 saw the launch of a new way of working for Cari Lekebusch's H-Productions label. Motivated by the dual inspirations of the label's original name – Hybrid Productions – and the brands long legacy within techno, a concept was born which would bring together a select group of artists whose musical taste complimented one another and whose heritage matched that of the label.

This deliberate hoarding and nurturing of creative forces within a group dynamic has breathed new life into a label whose first release hit the shelves of record stores in 1994; enabling the H-Productions legacy to continue to be a home to the artist who have helped build the brand over the last seventeen years and provide a launch pad for like-minded talent of the next generation.

Like the label itself, this debut release of H-Productions’ Mutation series is also a hybrid. Born out of a spark of inspiration, this various artist compilation is an evolution of the often tried and well tested ‘annual best of compilation’ concept; a collection of brand new, original tracks crafted solely from the separated production parts of H-Productions 2011 back catalogue.

Having collected numerous samples of percussion, keys, strings, pads and effects from the 40 tracks released in the last year a gene pool of audio. This mass of parts and stems was made available to the H-Productions artists, with all eight members of the roster invited to consume the individual parts in order to regenerate them into original productions of their own. Result? The seventeen tracks listed below…

A unique, set of genetically modified music created by combining and mutating the sonic DNA of the label’s 2011 output. A bold experiment to challenge the creative elasticity of the producers on the roster by inventing a hyper-artistic working environment that would allow for the group to be inspired by each other while expressing themselves individually.

Creatively free to select parts from whichever track they wished, a controlled but random process began to take shape. Take a hi-hat from Alexi; grab a bassline off Cari; throw in Jesper’s kick drum; add a sample from The Advent & Industrialyzer’s synth; play around with Joel’s melody and sprinkle it all with Tony’s crazy effects. The potential combinations were endless and we believe the outcome is nothing short of phenomenal.

Chooice and Ivan Serra and sign the reference number 20 in the Spanish label Redlight Music. An EP of five tracks with three original tracks and two remixes of artists Plastikkid (Redlight Music) and Jack Barton (Recore Records).

Ivan Serra (BlackOut'77 / Factomania / Metro Dance Club) deejay resident of one of the best clubs in Spain and Chooice (aka Dubman F) brings us an EP with different themes that moves in the Techno and Tech House. Opening are "Geos", a hymn Techno fall as a claim on the dance floor. Continues, "See You Detroit", a theme very rhythmic Tech-house and filled with great percussion Groove getting a very attractive rate.

The first remix is signed Plastikkid with a Techno version of "See You Detroit" very powerful and functional, playing in a compact form. The fourth theme, and the last original, "Room 203", a track with a deep techno cut that relies on a good rhythm of drums getting a very danceable atmospheres. And closing this release the English remix of Jack Barton of "Room 203". With a more Deep and very strong bass line.

Swedish indie-rock sensation Torpedo get the Sharam Jey treatment this month with an explosive reworking of their track Waiting For The Fall, out today on King Kong Records.

Torpedo is hot news right now. Sometimes people like Justin Timberlake hang out with them and do things like lay down vocals for their albums. The five-piece describe themselves as 'Kraftwerk with a heart,' mixing doom-and-gloom themes of destruction with infectious synth-pop melodies. It's pleasant and horrific all at the same time.

Waiting For The Fall originally appeared on the band's second album, We, earlier this year. Now, thanks to a collaboration with Sharam Jey, it's back, bigger and with more bass than before.

Jey is a dance music visionary with a Fresh Prince of Bel Air aesthetic and an obsessive tendency towards awesomeness. Founder of King Kong Records, he is an internationally recognised producer who can count having one of his tracks voted 'Best Dance Track of All Time' by Mixmag amongst his accolades.

This isn't the first time these guys have teamed up. Lead singer Andreas Hogby appears on Sharam Jey's artist album In My Blood, on a track called Hearts of Stone. As a self-confessed fan of the band, Jey needed little persuading to revisit the relationship for this collaboration.

The track is an emotive blend of electro and indie that is reminiscent of Not In Love, an epic Crystal Castle's collaboration with The Cure's Robert Smith. It's an apocalypse with a poppy hook (an apocalypse?) that tugs on the heartstrings even as Jey's beat drives the track relentlessly forward.

The track speaks to themes that recur time and time again in Torpedo's work. Namely, that the end of the world is nigh and everyone's in deep trouble. Yet the band have always had an excellent understanding of 'catchy' and with Sharam Jey's input catchy gets turbocharged. It's an interesting and ultimately completely successful juxtaposition of form and content.

The single release also includes a dub version and a radio version of the track. The accompanying video is directed by Johan Holm, who has previously collaborated with Torpedo on tracks Monday Morning and Army of Men.

Recorded live at Warung, Brazil’s most remarkable super club and electronic ‘music temple’, this three-hour genre-bending and record-breaking set stands as a testament to Sharam’s dedication to educating while entertaining the masses without any musical limitations but with a unique ability to rock the dancefloor. When Warung booked Grammy award-winning producer and DJ, Sharam, for a 10-hour house music marathon set in April this year, he smashed all attendance records since the club opened, with 4,500 clubbers turning up to hear his set!

Three of the most perfect hours of this night have been selected and lovingly presented in this must-have compilation. As Sharam explains: “Warung is the number one club in my book so it’s a dream come true that I get to showcase to the world what went on musically last time I played there. Three hours of that magical 10 hour set is now engraved in eternity via this album. I could retire today and be a happy man, but nights like this make me want to go on forever doing what I love to do.”

Not only was this floor filling set a hit at Warung, it also impressed Radio 1 and in May 2011, they aired two hours as a prestigious Essential Mix, where Pete Tong described Sharam as: “In devastating form”. For Radio 1 to air a mix recorded elsewhere is practically unheard of, however rules were sidestepped to air Sharam’s blinding Warung set, which is no surprise when you consider Sharam (also part of the legendary Deep Dish) won Essential Mix of the Year for his debut mix in 2009.

With popularity sky high, and with such a good reaction to the Essential Mix, Sharam decided to turn his set into a proper mix compilation. The album is packed with an array of white labels, unreleased tunes and dance floor head turners. It journeys from the hypnotic sounds of Paul Ritch, Slam and Pirupa into Joe T. Vanelli’s explosive "It’s Gotta Be Big" and remixes and tracks by Adam Beyer, and Nic Fanciulli. Without needing much of an introduction Prince Rogers Nelson (Born 1958) is without a doubt one of the major global superstars of a musical generation. A man who plays over 26 instruments and has roughly 1000 unreleased songs at his first class Paisley Park Analog Studio in Minneapolis. During the 80's, along with luminaries Michael Jackson and Madonna, he breathed life into the worlds music scene with smash hits such as 'Kiss' and 'Purple Rain'. Prince went on to produce thirty Top 40 singles, ten platinum albums - selling over 90 million copies, earning him seven Grammys! With each album Prince released, he demonstrated growth and musical diversity, constantly experimenting with different sounds, textures and genres. Still active as ever, Prince is currently on the Canadian leg of his tour until mid December 2011. Whilst touring in Europe earlier in the year his management company considered making some new collaborations with an independent record label. After a meeting with Purple Music at the offices in Switzerland, both parties discovered a shared taste in music and ideas and a strong bond was soon established. ‘Dance 4 Me’ is the first of 2 singles to come out through Purple Music. The second release will be due in February with a song called '2 Nite' by Bria Valente - a Minneapolis upcoming Prince protégée produced by the man himself.

Switzerland’s No. 1 dance label, Purple Music (EST 1997) is owned and run by Jamie Lewis (Cem Berter) and his wife Manuela De Pasquale. Jamie Lewis started his DJ career over 20 years ago whilst running the legendary Winterthur City Dee Jay Service record store which he ran for 17 years. Suara Showroom comes back to the game after a long period of inactivity. It used to be the grooviest series of records of the cat's label, now some months after, their latest release keeps the same way but we changed our characteristic artwork.

The Spanish Armada with Danny Serrano, Hector Couto, Sergio Fernandez & David Lara are well represented. They share the EP with two of the biggest names of the current tech house scene, DJ Madskillz & Jon Rundell. With those names you only can expect groove, groove and more groove. All the tracks were well tested on the dancefloor and we can only say one thing: It works!

Lacandon & VeNes are well known for their outside-the-box thinking when it comes to music and it shows in their collaboration with Hassan Rassmy entitled ‘Imotep’ - the first release on Lowbit for this trio. Blending styles and elements from a wide variety of music, it’s hard to pinpoint a single influence but safe to say that the result is something spectacular.

We have been fans of American producer and DJ Josh Abrams for quite some time now and it’s a pleasure to welcome him to the Lowbit ranks for his remix of ‘Imotep’. Josh takes a deeper approach to his remix, adding big lush pads and stripping back the drums while bringing the melodies into focus.

German duo Hyline & Jaybeetrax return to Lowbit with another stellar remix. In contrast to both the original and the Josh Abrams remix, our dynamic duo go darker and faster with a big heavy bassline, driving rhythms and rhythmic stabs, with vocal chants adding a nice twist to it all.

Q.U.A.K.E are two very promising young producers. The Israeli Asraf Netanel has been producing under various names, such as System Failure and Faders and Diogo Andrade of Brazil known as DJ Automack. Since the project's inception in September 2010 Q.U.A.K.E has been providing electronic club music in a unique and fascinating way. With support from big names around the world, including: Armin Van Buuren & Paul Van Dyk and remix projects for Andrea Bertolini, Lish & Khainz this duo has seen their productions find their way on to Stereo Seven, Iboga, Unreleased Digital, Echoes and Baroque Records. The 44th release on Spherax Records sees Q.U.A.K.E teaming up with Israeli producer Osher for 'Move & Groove' which features remixes from: Pietro Coppola, D-Trax, Platinum Monkey and Ivan Demisoff.

The 'Move and Groove' original is one of Q.U.A.K.E's largest and most dance floor worthy tracks to date. It's tight crunchy sound, dynamic production and fresh sound design which includes a killer vocal stab and a hands in the air melodic breakdown to die for make this one of the biggest main room monsters on Spherax to date.

Italian producer Pietro Coppola returns to Spherax here for his third remix for the label. Pietro's 'Move and Groove' interpretation uses the main elements which make the original so great perfectly while adding his own unique twist. Some additional pads, a buzzing bass line and an electric breakdown which crescendo's in dramatic fashion make this an excellent big room alternative to the superb original. Bulgarian producer D-Trax first appeared on Spherax well over a year ago for the label's 13th overall release 'Memories Will Fade' by Russian producer Anton Sever.

D-Trax followed that up with his warm house interpretation of En-Core's 'Right Back' in November of this year and now we see him making his third appearance with his remix of 'Move & Groove'. D-Trax delivers another outstanding production here with a tight, punchy and energetic interpretation that should have those main room floors jumping in no time. Russian producer Sergey Ttuser aka Platinum Monkey also returns to Spherax for his third appearance and also the third interpretation of 'Move and Groove'.

Sergey has provided a great compliment with a slightly more stripped groove that's loaded with tons of killer effects and beautifully warped sounds. Closing the package out is Ukranian producer Ivan Demsoff who built up a great fan base over the last few years with an incredible run of productions on Royal Tracks. Ivan's 'Move and Groove' rework comes with an infectious shufflely groove and more of that unmistakable energy from the original.

Ivan's version showcases the melodic lead perfectly as the stripped groove slowly builds up during the main drop which should result in a huge dance floor reaction.. Another extra large remix to close the package out!

Incepto Music are proud to announce a new release entitled "I Want You / Solid Ground". This time the labels artist Fresh Produce is back again with it's own solo release.

The original of the first track "I Want You" is a sappy sound with an authentic deep vibe and expressive vocal line. And the second track is a real jewel tune named "Solid Ground" with a distinctive melody charged with gorgeous female vocals and significant rhythm.

Although both tracks suggest more than enough in their original forms we are glad to round off this release with extended mixes and dubs.

Ben Coda is fast becoming one of the biggest hitters in the progressive and tech-house scenes and is a big favourite with Lowbit fans, so we're delighted to have him back on the label. Giving 'Glitter' a thrilling techy makeover, his remix strikes a beautiful balance between dramatically driving drums and growling bassline and light, airy layers of synth melodies that echo the uplifting nature of the original.

Steve Haines brings out the best elements of the original in his remix while simultaneously creating a really fresh take on the track. Banging out a seriously deep and dark bassline accompanied by squelchy stabs, Steve contrasts these with airy pads and sweepingly uplifting strings to make his remix a driving dancefloor bomb.

Outlook is a young UK progressive house producer who is fast putting himself on the map and was a well-deserved runner up in the 'Glitter' remix competition. His take on 'Glitter' is trademark Outlook, with absolutely lush chord progressions and spine-tinglingly warm pad work making this an outstanding part of the package.

Aussie producer inSilico meanwhile came third in the remix competition and is another fresh talent who's well worth watching out for. Taking 'Glitter' down a more techy road, he injects it with a throbbing bassline and rippling, rhythmic layers of squelchy synths to give it a whole new hypnotic twist that will work fantastically well on the dancefloor.

Bastards of Funk & Sonic Union's 'Glitter' has become an iconic track in the pantheon of progressive house since its release in 2009. It was featured on the Global Underground 2009 compilation, has had over 10,000 views on YouTube and the mighty PROFF has declared it one of his favourite tracks of all time and one that he still plays out - as evidenced by his inclusion of 'Glitter' in his Kazantip set earlier this year.

Following the recent Lowbit & FindRemix 'Glitter' remix competition we are delighted to present the first of two 'Glitter' remix packages to come this year. 'Glitter 2011 Part 1' kicks off with the Bastards of Funk & Sonic Union edit of the track, which kicks off with the same instantly driving drums and that standout lead chord of the original. But don't be fooled into thinking that this is just another clone of its predecessor, because this version of 'Glitter' has morphed into an edgier, fiercer echo of its original self, with a new electro edge, a subtly interwoven, more melancholic take on the original melody and a bittersweet bite.

Next up is the mighty Soundprank, making his eagerly anticipated debut on Lowbit with a remix that can only be described as a masterclass in melody, atmosphere and emotion. The original elements of 'Glitter' take a back seat here as Soundprank makes the track totally his own - although intimately inspired by the original's energy. Starting off in very deep, melodic territory, you're lured in by hypnotic chords, intense layers of suspense and atmosphere and a truly momentous breakdown that once experienced will never be forgotten.

Polish powerhouse Kobana meanwhile has created a stunningly powerful remix that hooks you in with majestic, shimmering, summery waves of melody underlaid with the deep bassline of the original and contrasted with the twist of a vocal stab. Thus does Kobana create an epically dramatic build-up that segues smoothly into a beatifully warm, uplifting, emotive rework that instils a nostalgia for summer sunshine and a longing to hear more.

Last but not least Lowbit is proud to present the winner of the remix competition, D-Eye, whose remix grabs your attention right away with its energetic drums and bassline, punctuated by percussive flourishes and squelchy rhythmic chords. Gradually he filters in the original bassline and topline melody but successfully manages to make the track his own by building a peak-time dancefloor demon with enough energy to power the National Grid that simultaneously retains subtle flashes of the original's summery disposition.

Matt ‘Radio Slave’ Edwards is proud to announce the release of Nina Kraviz’s eponymously entitled debut LP on his own revered Rekids imprint on 27th February 2012.

Muscovite Kraviz has risen swiftly to the top of many peoples’ ‘favourite producer’ pile in the last two years. It’s her simple but infectious take on deep house and techno which has seen the starlet release on connoisseur labels like Underground Quality, Cocoon, BPitch and, of course, Rekids. Tracks like ‘Pain In The Ass’ and ‘I’m Week’ became instant classics upon release; their long grooves, sensuous touch and deeply emotive atmospheres were perfect for both darkened underground clubs and closer home listening. So too did they showcase Kraviz’s deft production prowess, prove she was capable of writing proper songs and, at the same time, showcased the skilled DJ and ex promoter of Propaganda, Moscow to have a perfect voice with which to sing the lines she so elegantly writes.

All of those traits manifest themselves in Nina Kraviz (for an artist as idiosyncratic as this, it’s only right the title is an eponymous one) across the course of the album’s 14 tracks. Surely informed by her experiences playing quality clubs like Fabric, Space and Panorama Bar each weekend, there is plenty to explore from stripped-bare house to deepest Detroit sounds via beautifully ambient pockets and more soul infused slo-mo jams. All coated with an authentic analogue finish, the vast spaces Kraviz marks out for herself provide perfect chambers in which her own delicate vocals can be so beautifully suspended.

Playing out like a full artistic statement rather than just a collection of tracks, the odd time signatures, innocent and waify vocals, muted acid lines and hypnotic loops layered up by Nina all work subtly at pulling you into her world. Nothing on the album reaches out to make a grab for your attention; its much mores sensitive than that, instead working its way under your skin and staying there much longer than most house or techno records.

Though it explores a number of different styles, surfaces and moods, there’s a simple underlying beauty which holds the whole of Nina Kraviz together, from the sparse acid daydream of opener “Walking in the Night” to the otherworldly and fatalistic ambient closer ‘Fire’ via the smooth classicist depths of tracks like “Love or Go.’ This is an album which sounds best digested as a whole, from start to finish. That way, you find yourself fully immersed in Kraviz’s most honest and heartfelt world, just as she intended.

The album is preceded by the release of the brilliant ‘Ghetto Kraviz’ single in November. It’s a bulbous, bouncing fusion of big bass notes, icy keys and creepy vocal patches that add up to something both fresh and arresting, much like the album overall.

DJ, Producer, Cartoonist & Tea Drinker Mr Scruff, is a DJ that wows the crowds with his genre crossing mixes, playing Soul, Funk, Hip Hop, Jazz, Reggae, Latin, African, Ska, Disco, House, Funk, Breaks, Soundtracks & loads more. As a producer he draws on these influences, with a large dose of cheek & good humour. In the early days of the late 80’s Mr Scruff and avid record collector took a part time job at Kwik Save and ploughed all his earnings into vinyl. His first break came in 1994, when he met Barney Doodlebug who gave Scruff his first Manchester gig in Dry bar, and he also passed a demo tape to local label Rob's Records, which resulted in them releasing Mr Scruff’s first 12" single. Between 1995 and 1997, he released further singles for Rob's Records subsidiary Pleasure, as well as sides for Echo Drop, Grand Central & Cup of Tea. His work for Grand Central with Mark Rae inspired some 4 deck club performances, including friendly 'battles' with DJ Food, which introduced him to the Ninja Tune fold.

The release of more of Scruff’s productions resulted in increased DJ sets, playing regularly at the Electric Chair & Fat City nights in Manchester, and with Tru Thoughts in Brighton, and a four year residency at Off-Centre in London, as well as guest spots around the country. Upon the release of Mr Scruff’s 'Keep it Unreal' album on Ninja Tunes, it kick-started his Manchester club night of the same name, borne of a desire to play exactly what he wanted all night. The only real criteria is that the music has to have soul! The past couple of years have seen plenty of new releases from Mr Scruff, including ‘Donkey Ride/Giant Pickle’ , 'Pickled Spider' (with Kirsty Almeida), 'Dub Is For Real' (a collaboration with Maddslinky) and a ‘Keep It Unreal’ 10th anniversary album on Ninja Tune. Brooklyn’s DJ Spinna is a creative talent who globally and musically transcends genres. An extraordinary deejay, producer, remixer, and music historian, DJ Spinna possesses a remarkable mix of musical abilities. His only parameter is that his work must evoke a fresh take on the timeless sounds of soulful music. DJ Spinna made one of his first impressions on listeners when he produced The Jigmastas and went on to become a cornerstone of hip hop's golden era providing music for lyrical giants like Eminem, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, and Pharaohe Monch. He produced classics with J-Live, Mr. Complex, collaborating with hip-hop legends like Sadat X & Grand Puba of Brand Nubian, Masta Ace, Guru and The Jungle Brothers. Spinna built a reputation as a crucial remixer for major label hits for the likes of De La Soul, Das EFX, and MC Eiht and A-List artists including Mary J. Blige, George Michael duet and a hard-driving soulful remix of Michael Jackson’s "We're Almost There". He went on to rework classics by Donald Byrd, Eddie Kendricks, Roy Ayers, Al Jarreau and Stevie Wonder, as well as cutting edge acts like 4 Hero, The Brand New Heavies, the J Dilla bred Platinum Pied Pipers, Goapele, Les Nubian, his world-famous remix of Shawn Escoffery's "Days Like This’ and Stevie Wonder’s ‘My Love is on Fire’.

Spinna released his solo production album ‘Here To There’ on BBE, inspiring him to start his own label, Wonderwax in 2003 enlisting artists Rich Medina, Lady Alma, Blaze, The Free Radikalz and Selan. DJ Spinna carved himself a reputation as a world-class DJ and is one of a handful of DJs that are as well respected for pristine house tempo mixing as they are for their hip hop rooted turntabalism. He has performed at some of the world's most prestigious venues and festivals. His celebrated Stevie Wonder tribute parties ‘Wonderful-Full’ (EST1999) alongside Bobbito Garcia, sees DJ Spinna takes crowds of soul music faithful on an epic journey through music recorded, written, or inspired by Stevie, packing major venues worldwide. He even performed with Stevie on stage for the Harper's Bazaar 140th anniversary event in New York. Spring Tube Records next release comes from one of the leading Latvian DJs and producers Electricano who is known with releases on such labels as Starlight, Enhanced and Proton, he also runs own imprint Electricano Recordings. With his third appearance on Spring Tube Electricano presents brand new original work "Temptation" which is an interesting dark progressive house theme with tech house elements.

First remix is delivered by another our artist hailing from Latvia - Artie Flexs. It was featured earlier on some our radio sets and already received many positive feedbacks from the listeners, we also think that this is one of his greatest works to date.

Next up is the established producer/DJ from the UK - James Warren, - with his second remix work for Spr! ing Tube. Once again here we get from him a unique and creative masterpiece interpretation.

Russia's Magnetic Brothers have been one of the most prolific and genre defying production duos to come along in quite some time. Over the course of their two year production career Arthur and Anton have amassed a huge discography with over 120 releases and have appeared on Armada Music, Black Hole, Spring Tube, Indigo and many other top imprints. They are equally adept at writing beautiful cascading melodies for progressive house and trance, soulful grooves for deep house and twisted rock solid techno.

Generally the end product of a Magnetic Brothers production draws on influences from all these styles and that's what makes many of their pieces so unique. They see it as 'Romantic Techno' and they are in fact the 1st Russian Techno Romantics of XXI century. As 2011 draws to a close we find the Magnetic Brothers with a new studio album entitled 'Swimming In The Fog' which comes courtesy of the Hyline music imprint.

It's an eleven track opus that begins with the moody broken beats of 'We Can't Run' feat Duboniq. It's the perfect atmosphere setting piece for what is to come. The decidedly melancholic 'Flowers For Lana' is next and it carries with it some of that unique sound design that the Magnetic Brothers have become so known for. It's a deeply emotional piece which leads into the atmospheric tech house groove of 'On The Grass' perfectly.

The subtle vocal elements and gentle atmospheric sweeps keep the vibe nice and serene while the chunky bass line keeps the dance floor sensibility spot on. The murky and somewhat sinister sounding 'Riga Trip Story' follows with an abundance of spooky sounds and acidic synth touches, a moody piece that's perfect for a dark back room.

The title cut 'Swimming In The Fog' is next and it comes with the most dance floor punch yet, wide-screen style drums and a big spacious feel have given this composition a massive sense of space. The deeply hypnotic groove is to die for and works brilliantly well with the glassy keys for some killer momentum. The heavily processed and soulful male vocals add the perfect ethereal touch for what turns out to be one of the most soulful tracks on the album.

The deeply funky 'Lucky' is next with its prominent bass stabs and metallic atmospheric sweeps, the tough deliberate groove sets the stage perfectly for 'Hello' feat Nika Lenina which proves to be one of the biggest tracks on the album. This is the Magnetic Brothers at their progressive house best. A big driving rhythm that is utterly infectious combined with hooky synth accents and perfect chord changes make this an up tempo main room bomb.

The energy stays at a nice constant with 'Before The First Date' which is really stands out because of its warped sounding lead, it's just a deadly hook that's simply irresistible. The lazy vocal groove of 'From This World' is soothing and the perfect transition into the bubbly sounding 'Warm Summer Rain'. The softly textured melodies and twinkily atmospheric elements here shows the Magnetic Brothers on fine form as the album winds to close.

The grainy sounding broken beats of 'When The Night Comes' feat Duboniq seems to be the perfect composition to cap off 'Swimming In The Fog'. The vocals are utterly angelic sounding and it's one of the Brothers most emotional compositions to date. The escalating atmosphere and dulcet elements meld together in perfect unison for a wonderful wall of melodic bliss. Certainly leaves you wanting more.

“Sundown” is the first single from the forthcoming album of renowned producer/DJ Chris Lake, who has kept himself busy during 2011, touring constantly around the globe. Now, as the ink dries on a newly signed worldwide artist contract with Ultra Music, he embarks on a tour of North America starting in December.

“Sundown” has been a secret weapon during his sets during the summer and is a banger of a tune that features all that Lake has become notorious for. A rolling bassline which knocks, a gorgeous melody built on an acoustic guitar riff, building synths and the ever lovely vocals that are a guaranteed sing along to champion any dance floor. And that's only the original. Take all of that and have it remixed by Laidback Luke, Lazy Rich, Kyle Watson, Taurus & Vaggeli and Ronda, you know there's bound to be more than one hit coming from this package. This time the Pubahs team up in the kitchen with Dan D’Ascenzo, Orlando Voorn gets his jit on and the winning remix from Lucid Excuses is debuted, alongside a stripped Acapella.

Belgium’s Dan D’Ascenzo (Loulou Records/ Leftright Recordings) is a busy man - producer, songwriter, remixer, DJ, engineer and mastering technician, he goes head to head with the Pubahs here. The deep synth work and playful use of the vocal, over dark stabs, make for an insisting groove that only pauses for the drop. Orlando Voorn throws down his jiving Jit Remix next, pumping up the original and using his full musical lineage from Netherlands to Detroit, to give us a jacker that will have them dancing all night.

An instrumental version of Orlando’s remix is available as a digital exclusive. In October Detroit Grand Pubahs launched a competition in conjunction with Juno to remix ‘Sandwiches’. With no style remit to limit them, entrants had the chance to put their own take on some classic Pubahs.

Delivering by far the best remix and gaining the winning crown is Toronto’s Lucid Excuses with this killer dubstep reworking. Finally, to commemorate this last helping, those classic vocals appear alone for the first time on the ‘Sandwiches Acapella’.

H-Productions draws 2011 to a symmetrical close with Part 2 of the analogue-only production experiment between Cari Lekebusch and Jesper Dahlbäck. Having opened the years schedule with Part 1’s exploration into the creative capabilities of a pair of Roland 808’s, this time the pair focus on the Roland TR707 and TR727 drum machines; bunkering themselves away in Dahlbäck’s studio for a week-long session, pushing the combined output of the machines to their limits to create four eye-widening tracks.

Hands On Experience 1 kick started the labels yearlong collaboration project which saw Lekebusch combine with Alexi Delano and Joel Mull as well as Dahlbäck on a series of EP’s aimed at expressing the interlocked musical styles of the artists on the H-Productions roster. 2012 will see more collaborations, this time gathered together on to one “Recombinations” album as well as more Lekebusch/Dahlbäck analogue experimentation as the duo prepare for their Hands On Experience album.

The vinyl format of this release consists of Bongo Slush, an unashamedly old-school rhythm track complete with whistles and drum roll fills, and Latinator, a pacey and pulsating ride through compressed sub-bass and echoing effects. The digital only bonus tracks are 6 Bit Massacre, a sparse yet shimmering construction of percussion and spacey ascetics, and 1985 Again, that combines trippy, off-centre tones with crisp beats to create a wobbly, hypnotic and mechanical excursion through robot funk.

Craig McWhinney sat outside his tiny home studio, sitting in the Aussie sun, scratching his head through a new hairstyle. In front of him sat a few sheets of thick tin, and Craig imagined the sheets assembling themselves into a fancy custom reverb chamber.

A magpie flew into Craig‘s line of sight, hovered and landed near the tin. For those that don‘t know, in Australia the magpie is a bird known for stealing children‘s lunches and sometimes taking a peck at one‘s head if in the vicinity of a nest. This explains Craig‘s immediate unease. As a child he‘d confronted a group of hostile "maggies" and ended up hitting himself in the face with a brick. True story.

So, when another magpie approached the now adult Craig, his anxiety grew. Though sporting a dashing new hairstyle he couldn't be sure it would protect him from those vicious, hungry beaks. When a third and fourth magpie hovered and prepared to land, Craig‘s only hope was to take shelter under his sheets of tin.

The sound of the birds‘ hard, brittle beaks on Craig‘s tin was inspirational. He was at the same time afraid and aroused. What a beautiful way to die, he mused, lying under a sea of long plate reflections.

But he didn't die. Nor can he tell you how, or why. Was it because of some intervention from above? Or was that just another magpie?

And so, he thought it worthwhile sharing such sounds with you on this, his Haul Vinyl release: Divinity.

Also intervening are The Echologist and cv313. It’s difficult to introduce these two fine producers without sounding cliché. To call either of them legendary would be an understatement, and so to have them both included on Craig's first vinyl release for his own label is both an honour and a privilege. Each remixer has delivered their signature sound in a package that celebrates Craig's original vision… you know, the way a remix should be!

Enjoy, and watch out for the magpies.

Born in Mexico, Bsno has been awarded as "Best electro DJ" on the world awards in Mexico, so that he started his producer career very soon. So far his tracks were supported or included in compilations by Tocadisco, D.O.N.S., Laidback Luke, Saeed Younan, Austin Leeds, just to name a few.

With idols like Tocadisco, Pharrel Williams, Axwel, Timbaland, he will keep searching an unique style and hopes to start his way to be a Top DJ. Beeing at a very young age and a quick music evolution, Bsno is one of the young promises in electronic music.

In 2009 the Flamingo Recordings crew compilation captured the White Isle’s club-juice in Ibiza and 12 months later set their sights on the Big Apple for a New York chapter. Now, with the city’s musical mercury at sky-high levels, they’ve returned Flamingo Nights to their home streets for the Amsterdam Edition. This year Flamingo honchos Funkerman and Fedde le Grand have ceded the mix controls to label lieutenants Nicky Romero and Deniz Koyu - two of central Europe’s fastest on-the-rise spin-masters.

With David Guetta tagging Nicky in his DJ Mag interview as ‘the one to watch in 2012’ and having Romero remix ‘Titanium’ from his latest album, the 22-year-old Netherlander’s got the endorsement of the world’s # 1 DJ ringing in his ears. Since 1996, Drumcode has grown to become an institution in the global techno scene, encompassing a radio program, an event series, and, most importantly, a home for the musical vision of it's artists and founder. First founded by Beyer to self-release his own records, Drumcode is currently placed alongside the most influential techno imprints, and ranked among the world‘s best. “15 Years of Drumcode” not only celebrates this legacy, it propels the label further with a fresh injection of new and unreleased tracks from some of techno‘s finest producers.

In typical Drumcode fashion, “15 Years of Drumcode” celebrates the past by focusing on the present. There are no throwbacks, rehashings, or even remixes of the label‘s classic tracks. Instead, the 28-track compilation showcases only the newest and most exciting work of Drumcode‘s current roster, cascading between tough, thumping techno and housier, atmospheric arrangements. Top Dutch producer Francesco Pico is back and ready to knock your socks off. Absolutely Flabbergasted is out from today on Manual Music. Every bit as surprising and exciting as the title suggests, this is an excellent chance to experience a true student of musical narrative at the top of his game.

The release is Francesco Pico's third full-length album, following 2007's Imagining Sounds (Extrema Music) and 2009's Imagining Sounds 2 (Outside The Box Music). Absolutely Flabbergasted takes Pico into previously unexplored territory, and it feels as though he has broadened his list of musical influences considerably.

To be flabbergasted means to be left speechless. It's certainly the case that you'll be far too busy enjoying the music to want to utter a word. A casual listen reveals a deftly executed progressive mix, yet there's so much more at play beneath the surface. Especially nice is the introspective exhale of Absolute Breakdown and the subsequent segue into title track Absolutely Flabbergasted, which teems with densely layered polyrhythms.

It's hard to identify favourite tracks when part of what makes the album so outstanding is their relationships with one another, which feel as natural as breathing in and out. Pico's collaboration with Royal Sapien, another genre-buster, on You Changed My Way has clearly paid dividends though, as has a willingness to explore some more playful beats on Orphan Up Your Guard.

Absolutely Flabbergasted is Francesco Pico's first album release on Manual Music, following on with a single release The Confusion Grows last year and several remixes.

He has also released and remixed tracks for labels including Global Underground, AudioTherapy, Urbantorque, Extrema, Outside The Box, Proton and his own label Magnitude Recordings. Tracks are supported by multiple big-name DJs such as Sasha, Nick Warren, Hernan Cattaneo, Jimmy van M and Laurent Garnier. Pico also presents a slew of radio shows including spots on Proton Radio and 3FM.

Oktored continues a long lineage of Detroit Electronic Music. Limitless, genre expanding and intelligent, it can be said that this artist has pushed his music to project feeling. It is hard to define his genre and that would just be too limiting, as Oktored morphs between indiscriminate tempo future bass, defined as Detroit infused techno, borrowing ideas from moombahton, dubstep, juke, footwork and ghetto tech.

A gun to the stomach by a typical Detroit stick up thug flashed his musical life before him, right before he gave up all the cash in his pocket, and his life was spared. He remembered his time as a kid, only 12 years old, teaching himself guitar while following the Detroit techno, ghetto tech and jungle scene. Over the next few years visions of gear, often given to him by older cats in the industry became realities, as he collected an old Koss drum machine, Fender Rhodes piano, various synths, and drum machines, coupled with a Roland MC 500 sequencer. At this point his tools would then be worked to all hours of the morning. Flash forward to the cold metal of a handgun, in his gut, he realized that his day gig was NOT the direction he needed to go in life and began working past sleep deprivation to give birth to tracks that have become Detroit underground staples. He had no choice but to make his grimy and dark, underground bass symphonies pound through the bodies on dance floors, laying them out one by one and turning them into frenzied fans.

Today, Oktored has come under the tutelage of Brian Gillespie (Starski & Clutch), Detroit vinyl legend, part founder of Databass, Twilight 76 and Throw Records, purveyor of the Detroit ghettotech scene, and Jedi to this young Padawan. Gillespie is attempting to take Oktored away from the dirty, scandalous, mind-control-tricks; business side of the music industry, and just let him concentrate on being an artist.

He is currently releasing tracks on the YoSucka! Imprint, working on music that is sometimes inspired by current events. For instance, the track ‘How Many Moons’ was made in response to the riots in London of 2011. Overburdened by the thoughts of how people can burn down their own neighbourhood forced him to react in his own musical way. Software synthesizers, Ableton Live and esoteric tracker programs come under his command as he continues to produce, long after you’ve gone to bed and entered the deepest parts of slumber.

You know when you’re in a club and the DJ plays a record so good that it makes you rush the booth in a “what the hell is this?” kind of way. Then the DJ informs you that it’s some long forgotten B side, track 2 and then proceeds to show you the sleeve... and you immediately wail out... ”dam! I have this!”

This is the idea behind ‘Through The Eyes Of’ – a compilation series where Classic friends are invited to create a mix of those moments - the forgotten gems, the overlooked cuts, the head scratchers, missing links and secret weapons.

Encouraging creativity and weirdness has been the labels raison d’etre since conception but doing so in a way which brings both fun and excitement to each project. Not interested in playing by the rules and collecting together the labels “biggest hits”, friends have been handed the keys to the vault and told to dig deep.

The first friend to be asked to take part is Matt Tolfrey. As head of the consistently brilliant Leftroom record label, Matt has released records from the likes of Jamie Jones, Audiojack and Lee Curtiss, remixed luminaries such as Roman Flugel, Tom Middleton and Sasha and put personal productions out on friendly imprints like Get Physical, Rekids and Crosstown Rebels. Both Paul Mac and Mark Broom need little introduction, with each boasting a large and dedicated fan base in their own right after some twenty plus years of DJing and producing with a passion.

As two of the most popular names in the global techno scene and beyond, they revisit those aciiied days to show us how it’s done with the four-tracker, ‘Essex Acid EP’ on Mark Broom’s own digital imprint, BeardMan.

Joining their production forces for the first two tracks, Paul Mac then goes it alone for the second half of the EP. Originally recorded back in the day, ‘I Don’t Know’, ‘A Certain Era’ and ‘Knocker’ were first released on Mark Broom and Dave Hill’s seminal Pure Plastic label (PP066), while ‘Remember When’ was never previously released and appears here for the first time on both digital and vinyl.

Altogether these are four tracks of squelching, tripped out acid badness that will not only twist brains but also have plenty of pace and groove to keep those feet on the dance floor.

Staying true to the original acid sound but adding their own modern twists, these two Essex lads once again demonstrate why their skills have stood the test of time, making this another essential release to add to their already prolific discographies.

Featuring the lovely vocals of Lisa Shaw, "I Want Cha" was certainly a highlight from New Mondo's 2010 album Total Control. Now Transport Recordings revisits the song with a quartet of new remixes that take the track in new, surprising directions, showing how this great song can translate to different house music flavours. First off, New Mondo's DJ MFR reveals a mix in his sleek and deep San Francisco-honed style with some subtle tech-house elements.

Fellow New Mondo member Vincent Kwok takes things a bit funkier with a punchy bass line, spacious percussion, and deep, layered pads. Italian producer Doc Vintage revs up the energy with a remix that features tribal-ish rhythms, bright acoustic guitars playing against Lisa's vocal, and rising synth lines.

Finally, fellow Italian producer Devid Morrison takes "I Want Cha" to the big rooms, coaxing out a version that builds with a melodic, peak time European style that'll be a lot of fun on the right dance floors. The four cuts make for another top notch package from Transport, ideal for house music DJ's looking for catchy songs, gorgeous vocals, and tight rhythms.

John McLennan and Martin Wilson return to Hyline Music for a follow up release to their 'Celestial' EP. John and Martin have over 20 years experience in underground dance music with a string of releases in the early 90's under various alias's. 2011 has seen the duo return to music production and in turn have received much success early on with massive DJ support and critical acclaim coming in on their 'Celestial' EP. The duos much anticipated follow up EP is here, it's entitled 'Rapture' and it comes courtesy once again from Hyline Music imprint.

The duo's fresh progressive sound that was apparent on their 'Celestial' EP is back and more focused than ever. An innumerable amount of intricate drum elements and a hypnotic synth lays the framework for 'Rapture' as the track approaches the first drop. Here a soft set of emotional chords descends over the mix as a wall of warm low end frequencies introduces itself for the bass line.

The piece flows through an amazing set of chord changes for its apex amidst some twinkly melodies that hover above the mix along with a haze of granular atmospheric sweeps. The companion piece 'Concept Of Life' has a wicked otherworldly vibe about it at the tracks outset.

Spacey synths and a foreboding atmosphere lead to the drop of a well shaped wobbly bass line. The airy chords gradually open up and the razor sharp synth lines cut through the atmosphere with ease as the track begins to breakdown. Here Wilson & McLennan paint a sonic soundscape full of well textured synth sweeps and a spacey but emotional atmosphere which sees the track out to an exhilarating climax.

The always on-point Hypercolour imprint deliver ‘Don’t Put Me in Your Box’ EP from the talented Maya Jane Coles this winter. Featuring four new original cuts and artwork created by the multi-faceted producer, the EP marks the final 12” release before her album project takes hold in 2012.

The attention on Maya Jane Coles throughout 2011 has been about as intense as it gets and for good reason. Her productions, written, produced, engineered and voiced by the young artist herself, have won respect and support from peers, punters and press alike – whether producing house, bass music as Nocturnal Sunshine or electronica alongside Lena Cullen as She is Danger.

Having recently remixed Little Dragon, Tricky and DJ T, Maya is building on early successes beautifully and this current EP for her friends at Hypercolour continues that progress in fine style.

‘Don’t Put Me in Your Box’ is the London-based producer’s most ambitious EP yet. Much like her previous output the rich, melodic and warm characteristics are present but there’s an increasing maturity that bleeds across the four tracks.

The classic deep house tropes of Coles’ early material are still superbly delivered in ‘Parallel Worlds’ and ‘Cutting It Fine’ but are presented in a refreshingly subtle and original context that provides a snapshot of contemporary house music at it’s finest. While those bookending tracks tip a nod to previous material the lurching, dub-house of ‘Dub Child’ and the strikingly beautiful melodies ‘Something in The Air’ see the young producer exploring, creating a well-rounded EP touching on the breadth of modern house.

Girl, do you want to dance with me? Who would have believed a Sasquatch, humanoid primate from Native American legends dances with passion on our sound waves? With an artwork being always witty Unpleased Records delivers its third release ‘Dance Is Not Enough’ by Yamen.

Emergent artist, young protected from Brian Sanhaji and remixed by SIS under his techno minimal period, he decided in 2010 to swap his old moniker for Yamen, a transition which marks a major stylistic evolution. Gentleman, a little eccentric in his music productions but pre-eminently creative, he distils a refined Deep House music filled of singular energy.

Yamen reveals with Dance is not enough a modern and fancy musical project, composed by eclectic sound elements, and one creativity is in keeping with cosmopolitan mood of freedom.

This EP is composed by four resonant shuttles containing in one of them a sight of Deep House. Dance is not enough is marked by a state of mind away from the splitting tags of one music style, for taking everybody in a real journey of feeling and exploration.

The first track Don’t you know is hoisted by a bass line with a groovy Funk and carries in it all the dimension of the piece. This flow with the different patterns din in our spine a sweet electricity which orders at our body to move. There are too warm, fickle, organic vocal snippets giving a deep beating, then they beach themselves as liquefied.

Jazzino includes exotic beats with a jazzy bass line and interrupted with vocal line like a small curt sneeze. It is deep and stunning. Sex Loop is as for it a piece of music indued with bluffing humor and imagination.

The EP closes on Venice Beach, globetrotter music which opens a window on the Pacific, on a high rooftop perched overlooking the ocean when the sun is beginning its decline. Venice Beach is a spatio temporal wind-up whose the flow and the rhythm texture fill us with particular shape of positive energy.

Dance is not enough is the rightful successor of one mini EPs line which blasted the sphere of emergent artists in the world of digital music, a third release which proves just as exciting.

Recently described by Fabric Nightclub's blog as one of the freshest DJ teams about, Ryan Ellis and Lewis Wright - aka No Artificial Colours - have clearly started to make waves in the global house scene.

Yet whilst they may be masterful mixologists, their recent rise to fame is almost entirely down to their silky production skills and ability to make sexy, melodic, bass-driven tracks that slot perfectly into the current vogue of house music.

This year’s been an exciting one for the boys, having released their debut EP Welcome to the Jungle in May to rapturous support from the likes of Jamie Jones, Art Department, and Visionquest for the dancefloor killer, Detroit Baby What. Even the current ‘Queen of House’, Maya Jane Coles, charted it in her Beatport Top 10 in June.

Summer was particularly busy for the pair as they played a whole host of parties in London and Ibiza, as well as performing at Glastonbury festival. Since then they’ve been signed to the Krank Brothers agency, provided a top 10 chart for Beatport themselves, delivered an exclusive mixtape for i-D Magazine, and charmed everyone they’ve encountered along the way!

This week, No Artificial Colours released their second EP - Street Knowledge - on up-and-coming Miami label, petFood. The 4-track release builds on their earlier work, developing a hypnotic and refined sound that maintains a healthy balance between vocal samples, beefy basslines and catchy melodies.

One week after its release and already all four tracks are charted in Beatport’s Top 50 Deep House tracks, with the title track sitting at #12. Not only that, the EP was featured in the ‘Staff Picks’ section, as well as being in the top 5 releases of the week! There’s already a lot of attention surrounding these two fresh-faced producers, which speaks volumes for their incredibly mature productions. No Artificial Colours is rapidly becoming a name to remember.

Audiojack returns to 2020Vision after a year or so of setting up their imprint Gruuv. The new single 'Get Serious' shows the duo not only mature as artists but also develop and hone their sound to new House themed productions.

The title track is state of the art bounce in a box with a killer vocal hook, 'Let The Rhythm Take You', meandering around sweet insistent stabs. It's been smashing terraces, rooftops and discotheques all summer and now it's finally available for our select DJ friends to carry on the vibes through Autumn.

'Polka Dot Dress' comes spotted with a sound originally created on the classic Korg M1 synth and used by MK to devastating effect in the 90s. Audiojack have then sprinkled their magic dust on it and added sweeping Detroit techno strings, tight drums and healthy amounts of bottom end rumble.

As we look forward it is important to know your roots and Audiojack show they know their House History by covering the all time classic by The Backroom - Definition of a Track. No samples at all were used and the guys worked out and replayed all the synth parts before adding new vocals from Kevin Knapp. By beefing up the original we hope a new generation of DJs and clubbers bust out this amazing track. It deserves to be heard again and is produced and primed for today’s dance floors.

This month Detroit Grand Pubahs present the second release on their new Engineroom label, which continues their renovation of the classic Sandwiches with part two in this three part series.

The first instalment of Sandwiches / Club Sandwiches in October, not only featured a fresh 2011 version by the Pubahs but also interpretations from new production duo, Unsubscribe (Dave Clarke and Mr. Jones) and Marc Romboy. The new single, set for released on 7th November, will also feature remixes from Berlin tech outfit &Me and London new kid on the block Sam Young. College 84 is taken from the new Timo Maas album which should emerge in Spring of 2012.

The video, debuting on the same day as release, gives a peep into the world of “robot love”. Seen through the eyes of two teenage boys, we witness a couples’ intimate exchange with a twist. Clothes are removed and lust and passion take over, as the couple literally get under each others skin... and start ripping it off. Piece by piece the flesh is removed until all we are left with is the robotic frame of metal and wire.
